Describe:
Distributed LAN-based automatic and on-demand backup of workstation and server files utilizing network disk space.LANBak Network Backup comprises a suite of software components that provide secure, distributed, automatic and on-demand backup of server and workstation files around the LAN. This client data is backed-up by utilizing spare disk capacity found on the LAN using machines (or 'nodes') configured as LANBak 'Servers'. These 'Server nodes' can be any Windows 2, 2, XP or NT 4 PC.
Each computer running LANBak Client must be licensed (the first 2 licenses are free). There is no limit to the number of computers that can be configured as LANBak Servers.
Users can preview, restore and delete backed-up file versions from within Windows File Explorer without intervention from the network administrator. Preview, restore and delete operations are restricted by the software using the original file's access permissions thus ensuring data security.
LANBak also supports 'off-line' monitoring of changed files on mobile computers such as laptops and tablet PC's. Any changed files detected during the computer's 'off-line' state are backed up to LANBak servers when a LAN connection is re-established.
Minimum requirements: Windows XP, 2, 2 or NT4 (SP6a) -- License: First 2 licenses are free. Additional licenses $US 40 (bulk discounts available).
